This Privacy Policy explains how SEO Audit AI ("the app", "we", "us") handles data when you install and use it on your Shopify store.

Data we collect

• Your store domain and a Shopify access token (stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM).
• Publicly available storefront content we read to run audits: page URLs, titles, meta tags, headings, images, structured data and links.
• Audit results we generate: scores, detected issues and recommendations.

We do not collect or store your customers' personal data. The app reads only public storefront pages and store catalog metadata (products, collections, pages, blogs) — it does not access orders or customer records.

Third-party services (sub-processors)

To provide the service we share limited data with the following providers:

• Google PageSpeed Insights — when you measure Core Web Vitals, we send the public URL of the page being tested.
• OpenAI — when you request an AI audit or AI fix, we send issue details and optional public page snippets. No customer data is sent.
• MongoDB Atlas — stores your store record and audit results.
• Railway — hosts the application.

How we use data

Data is used solely to run SEO audits, display dashboards and reports, and improve the app. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Data retention and deletion

When you uninstall the app, your access token is invalidated. In line with Shopify's requirements, we erase all data we hold for your store (store record, scans, page results and issues) upon a shop redaction request (received via Shopify's mandatory webhooks, typically 48 hours after uninstall). You may also request deletion at any time by emailing us.

Security

Access tokens are encrypted at rest. All Shopify webhooks and session requests are verified with HMAC/JWT signatures. Traffic is served over HTTPS.
